SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

Well, We have been here at San Antonio for a month. The drive from Arizona to San Antonio was an ok drive I didn't do most of it. I was happy to have my Father in-law Vince Lemons come with me. We drove in one day. Kelly was good throughout the whole trip. A couple of times she was fussy but she did take some nap. We got into San Antonio around 11 pm. We didn't get enough sleep just because kelly had taken so many naps on the way down here. We got to the airport and waited for Anthony's flight. We literally picked him up and dropped Vince off. I was happy to see him. Driving around San Antonio is a little confusing if you are new to the area. We found a house within days. We moved in within a week. We moved in on Black Friday. While people are out shopping I spent the day unpacking. Anthony got me a washer and dryer for my birthday. With Christmas in a week, we are done with Christmas shopping and looking forward for Christmas. Kelly can't seem to get away from the tree and the gifts under the tree. To all our family and Friends, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

3 days to go

Well, after six weeks it is down to 3 days until I get to see Anthony. The first two weeks were the hardest. It was hard because I would rely on my husband but now I had to rely on to take care Kelly and myself. I have been staying with my in-laws for the past six weeks and they have taught me so much from relying on myself to eating healthy. One week I had the opportunity to make dinner for my in-laws. It was a good experience because I hardly cook. Well, I do cook but not real cooking. I picked out the recipes 4 out of 5 was good so overall I did pretty well. One of the recipe that I cook was a cheeseburger

When I ate this Big, Fat, Juicy Cheeseburger I didn't feel guilty. It was healthy and it was very Delicious. I was proud of myself for doing this.

ASBC

Its been more then a month since there has been a post Sia and I are obviously arent very good at this or lead really boring lives that arent worth commenting on. Im going to go with the first option. I am now at ASBC (air and space basic course) This is the end of my second week which means that I have four left along with about four days of ECAC ( Evasion Capture and Conduct). Sorry for all of the acronyms but that is how the military rolls. Its been fun so far and it doesnt seem that it will be all that difficult or all that strenuous. ECAC on the other hand may not be so nice, but only time will tell. After ASBC I will be meeting Sia and Kelly down in San Antonio. Really looking forward to going to Texas and beginning training and then finally getting into real Air Force work and not just being in training or transition jobs. But that is still five to six months from now but at that point I will be half way to pinning on 1st Lt. I will try to post once more at least before the end of ASBC but I make no promises.

Assignment

Hello all I now have some more news on what is going on. Its been a very hectic day and last few days. I got reclassed as a logistics readiness officer and was in the beginning had an assignment to Minot North Dakota " Why not Minot". Though before that I would have to go to Maxwell AFB for ASBC ( Air and Space Basics Course) which all new 2nd and 1st Lt.'s have to go to at some point. Then down to Lackland AFB in Texas for and initial skills training and then back to Minot. I just got word yesterday that my new base or where I will be permanently stationed after training is going to be Lackland AFB. The Minot portion is at least for now out of the picture which I must say I am not all that disappointed at. No more freezing cold winters at least not as cold as North Dakota. Plus not near as much traveling or moving in the process of getting into my new job. More to follow as things develop.

Update on reclass

Today I got a call from Capt. Hendricks about my packet that went up to the board a few weeks ago. I still don't have an official response but I know that it went up to the general thats in charge of AFSC's in other words in charge of seeing who gets what jobs and who is retained or separated or whatever. I hope to be able to find out the end of the week and or the beginning of next week. I will of course post another update when I know for sure what will be going on.

Training News

I have not kept this thing up to date to well like Sia has I was removed from training about two weeks before Brittney's wedding. I am now waiting to see if I will be reclassified into a different career field if I am not reclassified I will be separated from the Air Force which means essentially that I will be kicked out and won't be in the Air Force any more which I am hoping doesn't happen. On the 2nd of Aug the packet that was sent to HQ will be reviewed to see if I will be reclassified. I should then be told about a week later as to what will be happening so I am back at the drug testing center waiting to see what will happen. I will keep everyone posted.

Kelly's 1st Birthday

A year has passed by so quickly. We had a birthday party for her 2 weeks ago back in Arizona we celebrated not just hers but all the birthdays that was in July. She had her own cake. She loved getting into her cake. Alot of people came to the party. They day before the party was my sister in-law's wedding. Then the week after the party was the Karl B. Eagar Reunion. So It was a good turnout. She can walk without stumbling, she has really good balance and she can understand some words like uma(Kiss), wave, and she can say dada. Yesterday I said to her "Say Mama" and She said mama like twice and that was it. We love how she is learning very quickly. We can't wait for another year to pass by to celebrate her birthday again.

Updates once again

Its been a while since I have written and updated the blog I know Sia has but I haven't. We are now in California living in Santa Maria and I work up at Vandenberg AFB with the drug demand reduction office until my class starts on the 19th of this month. I have been working with the drug demand reduction office for about a month and a half now. My job is to check people in when they come to do there drug testing AKA pee in a cup. Fortunately I don't have the job of observer which is left to others to handle and do. On the days when we aren't testing it is pretty boring and there is nothing to do but watch the TV that we have. One morning I had to get up at 3:30 to be there by 4:30 to do a unit sweep which is testing everybody on the base from a specific unit which takes a long time and is a lot of people doing that I just directed people to the table for others to check them in. On Tuesday is my PFA which we have been getting ready for. I really hope I do well. I did well on the practice one that we did during the transition meeting which is a meeting every Friday for those in transition jobs to give them updates on information for the weekend as well as to sign 29B forms the form we need to have signed if we plan on going out of town for the weekend so that they know where we are. I will only have one more meeting before my class starts then I don't have to go to them anymore because I wont be in a transition job. I am looking forward to class though I have heard that it can be tough which means a lot of paying attention and studying so it will be just like being in school again, which is sort of the point. Being in the Air Force has been a great thing up till now and am sure will continue to be I can't wait to see what else is going to come up and what it will be like. I will keep up better communication. Sorry for the long absence.

Journey to Vandenberg Air Force Base

4:00am: Anthony and I woke up packed up the car, my family came by and said goodbye. We hugged and cried for 10 minutes. ten til' 5 we were on the road. We stopped in Avondale to put more gas.
6am: We stopped at a rest stop to use the bathroom and to change Kelly's diaper. Then it was back on the road. Anthony drove first. We then stopped at Blythe because we started to get hungry so we just stopped to get some snack. We drove through the california borderline by 7 am.
10:00 am: It was my turn to drive. It was my first time driving long distance. It was scary at first but then I got the hang of it. I wasn't even tired.
2:00 pm: By the time we reached Santa Barbara we had to switch because my back was starting to hurt so I needed to stretch. Also we had to change Kelly's Diaper.
3:30 pm: WE made to Vandenberg AFB. The drive wasn't so bad at all. We are so happy to start our little journey.

updates

We have moved out of our apartment since last week. We live with my in-laws now until we drive to California on the 15th. It was really nice that we didn't have to pack anything. The only thing we had to pack was the things we are going to take with us. The movers came on Feb. 22nd at 8:00 am. Bless their hearts they had to move our things in the rain. I was a little worried because our stuff would get wet but they made sure none of our stuffs got wet.
Since we moved in with my in-laws temporary, Kelly has been starting to crawl. The first couple days she was inch worming then she if full on crawling all over the place. She is also starting to say DADA!! But she doesn't realize it or knows what she is saying. I'm so happy to see Kelly growing up I love her so much she has been such an easy baby.

6 months check-up

On Monday We went to Kelly's 6 months check up. She weighs 17 pounds 4 ounces which puts her in th 75th percentile and her height was 27 inches long which puts her in the 95th percentile. She also got 5 shots. She is so strong when it comes to shots now. When I saw the nurse poke her with the first shot I saw Kelly's crying and then I couldn't hear her because she was crying so much like she couldn't breath. She was in a little pain but after she got the liquids in her mouth she was fine. Doctor said that we could start moving her up to 2nd foods of baby foods but she has already started when she was 5 months old. He also said we could start introducing her to a sippy cup. He also says that Kelly is already acting like she is 9 months old. She is already blabbing and sitting up on her own. She is one half Tongan baby.

6 month old

Kelly is 6 months today. YAYYYY!!!!! As you can tell she is getting chubbier. She has her 6 month check up on Monday. She is also teething yippee! Oh the joy of teething. She can recognize her bottle. When she sees her bottle she reaches out and tries to grab it. She fits in 9 to 12 months clothes.

She loves eating applesauce, carrots, pears and macaroni and beef baby foods. She doesn't like corn or peas yet. She has also learned to sit up but when something gets her excited she tends to fall backwards. She loves tummy time. One time I found her sleeping on her tummy. Kinda got me worried but she loves sleeping on her tummy.
Christmas eve: we as a family got to open presents I bought anthony a wedding ring since the one I got him for our wedding was too big. So I bought off ebay. Kelly got bunch of clothes.
Although she is six months she can't really fit in 6 month clothes because her height puts her in 9 to 12 months.
Christmas Day: We spent it with my family Kelly once again received more clothes from her aunt Tema and Uncle Eku. I also received a new dress and a necklace. We also got to talk to my sister ame and brother paul who are both on the mission as I speak. Paul is in Santa Rosa, California and Ame is in Ogden, Utah. Ame called first and then half hour later paul called so we did a three way call and got to speak to both of them. Ame only had an hour so we all got to speak to her then paul called back and we got speak to him for 2 hours.
The week after Christmas we got to spend I guess you can call it another christmas with Anthony's family. Kelly got some books and toys and a special seat. It was nice to spend christmas with both families.
